From the library homepage (, look for the section (top center) entitled "Electronic Databases".

Click on the first link beneath the "Electronic Databases" heading:

Access our Online Databases & Journal List.

Our database are arranged under various tabs:  Online Encyclopedias, General Subject Databases, Specific Subjects (drop-down to choose a subject), and Newspapers.  Click on the desired tab, and then if you are off-campus you will click on the icon that resembles a house next to the name of the database you wish to search. You will then be asked to verify your student status before being given access to the database.

The next screen you will see will contain a blue box requiring you to enter your name and your bar code (located on the back of your picture id) in order to verify your student status at DeSales.

After submitting the required information, the interface for the database that you chose to access will appear.  If you are denied access for some reason, call 610.282.1100 ext. 1266 and we will work with you to fix the problem.
